Dental Implant

Ensuring that your teeth are in good condition is very important for your oral and overall health. It is no surprise that our dentists, Dr. Rogowska, work hard to keep a patient’s oral condition in great shape, regardless of the issues they are facing. Dental Implants are one of the best solutions to restore your missing teeth. It not only brings back your confidence to smile but also makes your oral conditions healthier. When you have good-quality titanium implants inserted in your jawbones, you will not have to worry about jawbone erosion, which can make you look older.

Dental implants are used as a foundation for a new tooth. They permanently fuse with your jawbones and do not need any additional care. With proper maintenance, these implants can last for a lifetime.

Advantages of dental implant restorations

  • They are built for maximum durability.
  • Dental implants preserve jaw bone and neighboring tissues.
  • Dental restorations like crowns attached to dental implants are highly stable.
  • A dental implant restores one’s confidence to smile.
  • Your facial features will be more refined when the teeth are restored.
  • No adjacent teeth have to be prepared or ground down to hold the new replacement.

What are the different types of dental implants?

There are three common types of dental implants:

  • Endosteal Implants – These are the most common and are suitable for patients with a healthy jawbone. They look like screws and are put into the jaws where the artificial teeth are fitted. It takes a few months for the titanium screws to fuse with your jawbones but once that is done, it forms a strong foundation for your artificial teeth.
  • Subperiosteal Implants – Herein, the implant rests on the top of the bone but below the gums. This is ideal for patients who do not have enough jawbones.
  • Zygomatic Implants – This is the least common type of dental implant as it is quite complicated. It is only performed if you do not have enough jawbone density for endosteal implants. Here, the implants are placed on the patient’s cheekbone, rather than their jawbone.
